Squint

Early Detection & Treatment for Clear, Coordinated Vision

Many people believe that misaligned vision is permanent and untreatable—but that’s not true. Squint, medically known as Strabismus, is a condition where the eyes are not aligned in the same direction. It can occur intermittently or constantly, and affect one or both eyes, turning them:

  • Inwards (Esotropia)

  • Outwards (Exotropia)

  • Upwards or Downwards

Strabismus may affect both children and adults, and if left untreated, it can lead to complications such as lazy eye (amblyopia) or double vision.

Childhood Squint – Don’t Ignore the Early Signs

Early intervention is key. If you notice your child’s eyes are misaligned, consult a pediatric eye specialist at Spashta Eye Hospitals right away. In some infants, the appearance of misalignment may be due to facial features—like a flat nose bridge or wide spacing between the eyes—this is known as a “Pseudo Squint”, and does not require treatment. However, true squint must be diagnosed and managed early to prevent long-term visual complications.

Treatments We Offer:

  • Prescription glasses or prism lenses

  • Eye exercises

  • Occlusion therapy (patching)

  • Strabismus surgery to correct muscle alignment

Our expert ophthalmologists, including Dr. Radha Dondapati, use advanced tools to assess eye movement and alignment in both children and adults. Whether it’s a mild misalignment or a complex squint case, we provide tailored treatment plans to restore proper visual function.
